Project Description
A great way to have fun and learn about cooking, baking, food safety in the kitchen, nutrition and public speaking. Members will have the opportunity to be a part of a team building experience while learning the fundamentals of the kitchen if they wish to compete in food challenge competitions. We will also have opportunities to learn some fundamentals or enhance skills through workshops and interactive meetings. Our project will also include community service projects. Come have fun and learn some everyday skills. Costs minimal.
Food Show and Food Challenge
Description
We have Food Challenge teams compete at the county, district and state 4-H competitions as well as Heart of Texas, State Fair, Houston and San Angelo. In addition, members can compete in the Food Show and at the San Antonio Livestock show individually. Family Favorites is the theme for Food Show this year! The packet will be released September 1st.

Project Description
This group is a combination of JMG and Food & Nutrition. The students (intermediates and seniors) will be learning to identify fruits, vegetables and nuts. Competition happens with teams of 4. They will also be learning nutritional info about these products as well as how they are grown, harvested and their availability. This project lasts all 4-H year with occasional group meetings. There are three competitions for this project. Costs associated are travel and food.
